Analysis of Suspense Sequences – Closed Circuit

Closed circuit uses a range of cinematograph and video editing of complex overlays and diegetic audio to create a mysterious and suspenseful film. Acting is not too noticeable or relevant as there is no dialogue or no facial expressions to portray noticeable emotions but the quality of carefully placed cameras,  create this a fluid and unsettling scene. The careful positioning of cameras and the video editing of overlays to make it look like CCTV footage create suspense and tension in this scene and leaves the viewer questioning who is watching them and why they are watching them. The lack of knowledge on whats going on or whats happening is the main ingredient of suspense in this film. The video editing of slowly zooming in on the protagonists face also creates suspense as it shows that the camera is being controlled by someone and they are clearly focusing on the innocent character.
